Ethno-music, ethno-choreographic, handicrafts interwined with polyphonic songs and traditional dances, musical instruments etc are the values which have been created and inherited since centuries by the Albanian people. This event aims to highlight and promote not only the latters, but also the values of the museum city of Gjirokastra and especially its Historic Center, the tourist attractions of this city by combining elements of cultural heritage with the traditional one. Walking with History Festival
A colourful Festival, organized in Gjirokastra castle, unlike any other of the events proposed here which contributes to the brand essence of Gjirokastër, revive destinations’ history through various performances and shows and showcase the historical, cultural, natural historical richness and heritage characters of the country by going back in time. Festival programme will display different periods of Gjirokastra rich history based on previously collected information on historical events. Stories and legends revitalizing at the same time the Castle area. All this in a form of a big theater where all can be actors in it.
